I have only good things to say about renting a place through Northwood Bearsden. Both Jennifer and Will whom I dealt with were always quick to respond to any concerns I had and were always very professional and understanding. It's been pleasure to deal with them and I would definitely recommend their services.
As a landlord I've had a terrible experience. I was living overseas and took up their garateed rent with the impression the flat would be checked regularly and they would look after it. I returned to check my flat and it's in disgusting condition. Stinks of cigarette smoke to the point that my friend (who's pregnant ) and I were almost sick, yet I asked no smoking in my property. The master bedroom sticks the worst to the point that it's not somewhere I would personally consider sleeping or using until the smell is gone and the room repainted and cleaned. My new bathroom looks like it's never been cleaned (18 month old new shower now covered in black mould from lack of cleaning which I've to pay extra for!!). and the kitchen is the worst. A new microwave never cleaned, oil and grease covering the rest to the point that the splash back, cooker, fan and oven need either replaced or professionally cleaned. They lied to me and said that it only needed painted and sealed in the bathroom and wanted more money to do this. Trust me painting and sealing is the least of my worries. The flat clearly never got checked or cleaned while I was away. Secondly they took money off me for "maintaince" that I didn't authorise or know about claiming it was for a plumber which my dad is a plumber and he is the only person who should be doing maintenance. I've asked to end my contract and take back my property (it's in disgusting condition and they are expecting others to move in to it in this state, I don't even want to move into it again but I own it). They never contact you when you email them, they give wrong information put pressure on you to use their contractors to do odd jobs then don't even keep the property in good condition. My property was in good condition when I left. It looks like now it's been used as the local pub/chip shop. It's disgusting. If I had known they were going to be this bad I would never have used them. I'm extremely worried about my property. I am very disappointed in them they made a lot of money from my property, I cannot understand why it's in the state it's currently in.
As a landlord and having has a poor service from other letting agents in the past, I did some serious research online to find a new letting agent and decided to opt for Northwood and their Guaranteed Rent scheme. The main difference that I found with Northwood is that, as a client, you arent just another number on the computer to them. Barry and all of his team were very personable and helpful from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble. The Guaranteed Rent was always paid into my bank account on the same date each month as promised. I had absolutely no issues and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone else looking for a letting agent.
Efficient and professional service over the last 4years, Barry and his team have been extremely helpful and I have received a seamless service throughout this time. I have the guaranteed rental option as this meets my needs but I am aware of the option of a managed only property. I have recommended Barry and his team to others.
The whole team at Northwood have been a pleasure to deal with. The comparison between these guys and my last agent is like night and day! I'm in to my second year with them and the whole experience has been drama free! I have received no complaints so the tenants have been appropriately vetted, I receive monthly updates with my payment confirmation, which has always been on time! These guys are professionally managing my property and have literally removed all stress from my shoulders!Thanks for everything guys
