I initially visited 55 for a few drinks after work and one time I was feeling a bit peckish so decided to order some food. I ordered one of their tapas style dishes, fully expecting it to be standard pub grub, but after the first bite I was completely blown away by the taste and the quality of the food. Since that evening I have visited 55 numerous times and I have never been disappointed.One of the things that stands out 55 is how passionate the bar staff, particularly the manager, is about good quality food and drink. They have clearly worked closely with the chefs to create some incredible dishes that you would expect to find at some of the top restaurants in Glasgow. 55 is also a great place to pop in to enjoy a drink, they have a good selection and the bar and I particularly enjoy their selection of gins. Try a Loch Ness Gin! Normally when I want to go out for good food food I have to travel into Glasgow City Centre, but since 55 has opened, I think I'll be sticking much closer to home from now on.
Good - drinks prices rather high, but a nice place and a good atmosphere. No loud music to drown out conversation!
