Be helpful if staff answered the phones. Tried calling a few times to check temperature of pool / facilities etc and just rang out. Got our three month old ready for a swim and arrived there only to be told the children's pool was closed.

Decent Leisure centre and priced reasonably. Facilities include a large and deep swimming pool with a separate area for sauna and steam room. The steam room is a bit wacky. There is no control of over its regulator so most of the time there is a constant stream of steam which wouldn't be a bad thing except for the fact that it makes one hell of a noise and if you're going to relax ironically it doesn't allow you to do so. Gym is small but has everything you'd need. I wouldn't like to go during peak as it would be difficult to complete your workout due to the size and availability of machines. The fitness hall next to gym is decent with good equipment however the boxing equipment has been broken for a while and doesn't seem as though anyone has bothered to fix it. You also have indoor pitches, badminton courts and other facilities. Massages are also available and the masseuse is good.

This was my first visit to the Allander for a long time and I was part of the visiting squash team to play a West of Scotland league match. It has obviously been tarted up a bit and was pretty clean all over. Had no contact with any staff so can't comment on them. Squash courts could do with a bit of work as the floors are a bit uneven in parts and there is a big wet patch in the back corner of one of them. Overall not too bad!

This is an excellent local sports centre which I apologise for on my giving a 3/5 rating as it really is worthy of a higher score. My reduced mark is only because the main hall is not large enough for men's handball and so is not fit for purpose. It is ideal for all other sports so have no hesitation in booking to play here.

This is a great leisure centre overall and have been here hundreds of times over the years. The swimming pool is always clean and a good temperature, and normally not too busy. The gym has pretty good equipment and staff friendly and happy to help. Cafe is a tad expensive but you have to expect that from a leisure centre. During the summer there is loads of great activities for kids and adults, so plenty for the whole family. Hope to continue using this for many years as it is a fabulous facility.
